Coenzym B12 by Dr. Alexander Michalzik
contains only the biologically active form of vitamin B12. This is a methylcobalamin, in contrast to the conventionally offered cyanocobalamin.

Cyanocobalamin must be converted in the body by several metabolic steps into methylcobalamin, otherwise it is not effective. The cyano group remaining during the conversion process is problematic, it might lead to problems for a smoker.

Methylcobalamin, however, is directly effective and no chemical residual is created. The sublingual dosage form is intended to counteract the decreased absorption via the gastro-intestinal tract (stomach-intestines). The absorption of vitamin B12 from the gastrointestinal tract requires a so-called "intrinsic factor". Deficiency of the intrinsic factor may lead to dangerously low vitamin B12 levels. The hydroxycobalamin also offered is an intermediate stage of cyanocobalamin to methylcobalamin. Hydroxycobalamin must therefore also be converted to methylcobalamin. This requires glutathione and SAMe.

Biologically active vitamin B12 is also called coenzyme B12. Enzymes are essentially necessary components of endogenous enzymes, catalyzing important metabolic pathways.

Coenzyme B12 by Dr. Michalzik, is available in a high dose. The daily dosage contains 5,000% of the National Reference Value (NRV) for a daily intake in accordance with the Food Information Regulation (LMIV).

It is manufactured by use of gentle production technologies without heat or additives in the capsule filling and without the use of processing agents which are not required to be mentioned on the packaging.

No industrially produced silicic acid (silicon dioxide) flow aid.
Biotikon does not use silicon dioxide or silicic acid (SiO₂, known as E551) as a flow aid. The foundation for product testing "Stiftung Warentest" states that those may contain nanoparticles. Silicic acid or silicon dioxide in dietary supplements has been discouraged. Bio Suisse has terminated approval of silica or silicon dioxide. Silica from horsetail is not to be confused with this industrially produced silica.

No Aluminum Contained
A large number of nutritional supplement providers use aluminum as a sealant for cans. During the sealing process an aluminum foil is strongly heated by a high frequency electromagnetic field. We deliberately do not use this method!

Without talcum!
The release agent and lubricant talcum which is used for manufacturing of tablets or capsules can contain asbestos fibers. Biotikon completely dispenses with the use of release agents and lubricants in their capsule production.
